When Jesus told the servants at the wedding in Cana to fill the six stone jars with water, they did exactly that.
Then He said, “Now, dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” 🤔
Let’s pause for a second.
This is the point where many of us would start asking questions:
But… it’s still water!
I just filled these jars myself—I know what’s inside.
And now You want me to serve water to the Master of Ceremonies?
You didn’t even pray over it or bless it…
What if they find out it’s not wine? How embarrassing!
Can someone else do this part? I’m not sure I can explain what’s going on.
What if they get angry with me?
Even His mum who asked us to do whatever He says is not here 🤷♀️
Jesus, maybe You should come with me and answer the questions when they start coming!
But here’s the thing:
Not one servant questioned Jesus.
The Bible says: “So the servants followed His instructions.”
No hesitation. No side questions. Just obedience.
Can we be like those servants?
People who trust Jesus enough to do what He says—even when it doesn’t make sense?
People who are confident in His abilities even when we can’t see how it will work out?
People who don’t let logic, fear, or doubt get in the way of a miracle that’s already in motion?
The truth is: we cannot fully trust or surrender to a God we do not know.
The more we study Jesus—not just the stories, but the person—the more confident we become in following Him.
Like someone I look up to says, “Get to know the Man behind the Book.”
Knowing God brings clarity and calm to our journey of faith. Without that relationship, confusion and distrust creep in—and we risk missing the very things God is trying to do through us and for us.
There’s no shortcut around this:
We cannot serve, follow, or obey a God we haven’t taken time to know.
Let’s choose to walk in obedience like those servants—trusting the One who sees the end from the beginning.
Even if, to us, it still looks like water.
Well said Flakes!!!
This write up is loaded and takes me to the scripture that talks about us changing and being like little children in other to enter the kingdom of God. We have to trust with all of our heart, no iota of doubt in our minds. God help us truly be like the little children in Jesus name. Amen 🙏🏽 🙏🏽 🙏🏽
